Kolkata Knight Riders have the last laugh against DC

Vizag:  In the 17th match of IPL 2024, KKR defeated Delhi Capitals by 106 runs. Batting first, KKR had scored 272 runs. Delhi Capitals were all out after scoring 166 runs in 17.2.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)  scored a hat-trick of wins in IPL 2024. KKR defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 106 runs in the match of IPL 2024. Chasing a huge target of 273 runs, Delhi team was all out for 166 in 17.2 overs. Varun Chakraborty and Vaibhav Arora took three wickets each while Mitchell Starc took two wickets. For Delhi, captain Rishabh Pant (55 in 25 balls, four fours, five sixes) and Tristan Stubbs (54 in 32 balls, four fours, four sixes) scored half-centuries. Seven DC players could not reach double figures. Axar Patel, Abhishek Porel and Mitchell Marsh were out for zero. David Warner scored 18 runs and Prithvi Shaw scored 10 runs.

Earlier, after winning the toss, KKR scored 272 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. This is the second highest score in IPL history. Sunil Narine played an amazing innings for KKR, for which he was awarded the Player of the Match award. Narine scored 85 runs in 39 balls with the help of 7 fours and sixes. He gave KKR a fast start by adding 60 runs for the first wicket with Philip Salt (18). He made a partnership of 104 runs for the second wicket with Angkrish Raghuvanshi (54 in 27 balls, five fours, three sixes). Andre Russell added 41 runs in 19 balls. He hit 4 fours and 3 sixes.

Russell and captain Shreyas Iyer (18) added 56 runs for the fourth wicket. Rinku Singh, who came at number six, also played a brilliant innings. He contributed 26 runs in 8 balls. One four and three sixes came from Rinku’s bat. Ramandeep Singh could score only two runs. Venkatesh Iyer remained unbeaten on 5 runs and Mitchell Starc remained unbeaten on 2 runs. Enrique Norkhia was the most expensive from Delhi. He took three wickets for 59 runs. Ishant Sharma took two wickets, Khaleel Ahmed and Mitchell Marsh took one each. DC has lost three out of four matches. Pant Brigade is ranked ninth in the points table. KKR is on top.

Delhi had a bad start while chasing the target. Four batsmen returned to the pavilion at the score of 33 runs. Rishabh Pant and Stubbs were out after scoring half-centuries. Pant scored 55 and Stubbs scored 54 runs. Apart from this, no other batsman could play a big innings. Varun Chakraborty and Vibhav Arora got three successes each.

This is also the second highest score in IPL history. Sunil Narine played a stormy inning of 85 runs for KKR. At the same time, Angkrish Raghuvanshi added 54 runs on 27 balls. Andre Russell scored 41 runs in 19 balls.

Delhi has tasted its first win of this season by defeating Chennai Super Kings in the last match. In batting, the bats of Prithvi Shaw, David Warner and captain Rishabh Pant spoke strongly against CSK. At the same time, Khalil Ahmed had a strong performance in bowling.
